Microsoft Windows Vista Is More Secure than Linux and Mac OS X

vulnerabilities comparison os operating system windows xp vista mac linux

Is Windows Vista and XP really secure than Linux and Mac OS X? According to Microsoft’s Security Technology Unit Jeffrey Jones, Vista and XP are indeed better than the other OS, or so it seems.

One of the reason for such a high number of vulnerabilities is the fact that other OS like Linux and Mac comes bundle with tons of softwares that do not exist in Vista or XP, for example operating system like Linux tend to bundle with word processing programs and image editing programs, to include these security holes together with the OS is very unfair, that would be like including Microsoft Office’s security holes together with Vista and XP.

Are you sure?

I think your sadly mistaken.
In your imaginative graph you show windows having the least number of security holes. Even though at least 90% of viruses, browser hijacking, spyware, adware and other types of malware are DESIGNED to take over windows.

In my over 20 years of using Mac, Linux and Windows, I have had to re-format and reload windows at LEAST 50 times. While Mac os9 and Mac os X have each only been a problem once or twice. Linux being the most stable assuming you don’t mess with the code.

If were talking about ONLY vulnerabilities in the Operating System itself, with NO other software, then windows loses hands down. Windows XP with no service packs is now one of the most commonly destroyed systems on the planet.

Given 10 minutes, I can attack a windows xp machine from across a network and make it non operational while stealing all the personal information on the machine itself.

Linux is much harder to attack, still possible but near impossible for the average user. You must remember, with Linux scripts do not run unless the sudo or admin run the script themselves. Linux in general is much more secure than the exact same machine using windows.

Mac on the other hand has to be one of the most secure operating systems ever built, there are some viruses out there for mac but again, in order to run the script, like Linux, you must run the script with the sudo or admin.

Windows Xp and Windows Vista are both easily hijacked systems. Windows cannot keep Linux our of its system even with windows security running.

In Summation: You’re an idiot.

We’re not being paid by Microsoft to write this article, infact, Microsoft don’t do this sort of stuff. We are users of genuine software and believes in using original software. If one can’t afford a paid software, always settle for the free alternative.
