Word verification is unwanted in core WordPress because it is a hassle, it shuts out many people from commenting, there are no person-friendly and machine-proof generators available, and a great deal of today&#039;s spam is entered manually anyway. In fact, plugins are better able to deal with the rapid evolution of spam because they can be updated more often than WP core. The decision to leave word verification in the domain of plugins was driven by love for users, not money. :-)</description>
