Why Haven’t We Visited By Aliens Yet?

It is probable (but not definite) that civilizations evolve at different rates. The hominid species spent a good million years just running around like an animal before we developed the mutation that allows us to imagine the future and make decisions that are not instinctual. So, even if civilizations were to develop on many different planets, they could be seperated in TIME by a few million years easily.
On top of that, before you send out an expedition to a planet in search of life, you’d want to receive a signal from them. We’ve only been broadcasting into space for some 40 years now… and 40 light-years is pretty small in the grand scheme of things. Even if another civilization received our signals today, it would take them 40 years minimum to respond, barring some faster-than-light communication technology, and probably much longer to actually get here. With our current rocket technology (~40 miles/sec exiting Earth’s sphere of influence), it would take us a good 4500 years just to get 1 light-year away. I think the nearest star is about 4 light years away – so that’s a long time!
Intelligent life is most likely out there somewhere (or were, or will be), but I doubt we’ll run across one anytime soon. The distances and times are too great. However, unintelligent aliens (microbes, or maybe sea-creatures) we might find in the next 100-200 years on the various moons and planets in our solar system.

July 1st, 2008i agree with you…in all that space it would be funny that we are the only intelligent lifeform like you’re said…it is complicated to someone to realize that aliens exist…well it doesen’t have to be aliens but some higher force really exist…is it god or aliens or something third it doesen’t matter but we are not the only lifeform in the space…

July 20th, 2008yeah…all you guys seem like you know what you’re talking about. seriously…out of alllll of those stars and probably more planets circling that…we are definitely not the only ones ….. it’s impossible. and responding to “nikhil” we aren’t going to be attacked by aliens really. by the year 2013, we will be perfectly fine. nothings going to happen…trust me..i’ve read all of those books about 2012 also…probably the same ones that you have read. they’re real interesting and opens your mind about a lot of things…but you can’t believe all of it. the things being said are just great ideas that COULD be true. so, aliens won’t attack us. they don’t want to harm us…they just want to teach us how to all just get along without using weapons and they want to join us and just live in peace. we’ll all be fine as long as we don’t kill ourselves with our nuclear weapons….
..aliens are actually watching over us.

May 15th, 2009Replying your comment Freddy 111 I think that you have the right idea. We will never be certain of what other kind of life form is out there but I am sure that another life form exists. I think that aliens are interested in how much and how fast is humans learn. They are a little more advance than we are because they are able to travel so far and fast, but I also think they learn from us as well. We are a differ life form from them therefore it is important that we learn from eachother. They might also be afraid of us humans because of our past wars, maybe that’s why we haven’t made contact with them. Anyways that’s just what I think.

ALIENS,cant say a anything.They may around us invisible or we may be living in their world but we believe that its our planet or galaxy…Or may be we r thier pets.Or Aliens may be too small they can visit earth in any form..may be out of our imagination.Or may be they have full control on our thoughts and may limit us!!!!!!?
