Panasonic’s 1st dSLR

I own a Panasonic FZ-20 and I’ve been using it for almost two years. I’m happy to say that it is by far one of the best digital camera around. The Image Optical Stabalizer is way much better than other Imagine Stabalizer, due to the fact that Panasonic’s Stabalizer is built into the optical lens, wherelse Sony’s and Canon’s stabalizer are software based, some are optical stabalizer but only on selected few models.
Talk about Lumix, if you visit www.lumix.com the address, its not the official Panasonic Lumix website. The owner of Lumix is selling the domain name for USD50,000.00 which is way out of my budget. Perhaps Panasonic should negotiate or sue them for the trademark, maybe they are.

Pluto - to be or not to be!
A debate about the definition of a planet may sound like a boring issue to the average person, but a proposal by the International Astronomical Union certainly has blogger talking.
The proposal, which would reserve the status for objects with enough mass that gravity overpowers all other forces, making the object round, and that it orbits a star, not another planet. That is the only way these guys find to keep Pluto as a planet, by creating a definition that instantly makes a 12 planet system with 12 others up for consideration…and there’s probably several hundred more that we haven’t found yet… very Lame, I bet my one year old cousin could do better!
Why Haven’t We Visited By Aliens Yet?

It is probable (but not definite) that civilizations evolve at different rates. The hominid species spent a good million years just running around like an animal before we developed the mutation that allows us to imagine the future and make decisions that are not instinctual. So, even if civilizations were to develop on many different planets, they could be seperated in TIME by a few million years easily.
On top of that, before you send out an expedition to a planet in search of life, you’d want to receive a signal from them. We’ve only been broadcasting into space for some 40 years now… and 40 light-years is pretty small in the grand scheme of things. Even if another civilization received our signals today, it would take them 40 years minimum to respond, barring some faster-than-light communication technology, and probably much longer to actually get here. With our current rocket technology (~40 miles/sec exiting Earth’s sphere of influence), it would take us a good 4500 years just to get 1 light-year away. I think the nearest star is about 4 light years away – so that’s a long time!
Intelligent life is most likely out there somewhere (or were, or will be), but I doubt we’ll run across one anytime soon. The distances and times are too great. However, unintelligent aliens (microbes, or maybe sea-creatures) we might find in the next 100-200 years on the various moons and planets in our solar system.

How do you Remove ads from Geocities?
Ever since Google made their Google Pages to the public, it really makes me wonder why in the world would anyone want to use Geocities anymore. Perhaps its about time Yahoo do away with the sidebar ads and let the user decide if they want to have ads display on their website or not in exchange for a small profit, just like what Google is doing with Blogspot, its a win win situation.
Anyway, if you happen to have this old Geocities site hanging around and don’t want to lose the URL because of the amount of traffic, try removing the ads from Geocities with this tutorial. It really works, why would you want to do that? Simple, that is because Google Adsense don’t allow any other contextual advertising other than adsense on a site, so technically speaking the YPN ads on the sidebar of every Geocities is against adsense policy.
Yahoo Easter Egg

Switch on your speaker and then click on the “!” on Yahoo homepage. Its an easter egg, if you’re wondering what an easter egg in the digital world is, read this article about Easter Egg in Wikipedia. I guess Yahoo is fighting for free publicity on the internet that is largely shadowed by Google.

Second Hand Smoke Kills - Anti Smoking Advertisement

This is by far the best anti-smoking advertisment I’ve come across, found in my local newspaper. It says “Second Hand Smoke Kills” and Marlboro man’s horse died to second hand smoke - lungs cancer. Very effective message. I’m not a smoker and to all those smokers out there, stop killing me!
