Dilbert-Author Remove Post on Crocodile Hunter

Dilbert-Author recently blog about Steve Irwin and his stupidity. Steve Irwin was wrestling crocodiles before Discovery Channel ever came into existence. Adam Scott shouldn’t wrote that article of his, especially a man who died doing what he love to do. In the blogging world it’s very bad to pull a post after it’s been commented, and that is what Adam Scott did. I believe he receive too much hate main for his so called stupidity. Death is not funny no matter who dies. The post is no longer available at his blog, below is the article Adam Scott wrote:

I was shocked when I heard the news that the Crocodile Hunter died in a “freak stingray accident.” I had ten dollars bet on “misjudged the speed of a crocodile.” Something tells me that the media already had his obituary written with a fill-in-the-blank for the specific creature that killed him.

Readers of the Dilbert Blog know that I believe death is not a laughing matter, unless the guy who gets killed is in the process of bothering dangerous animals. And by “animals” I include all manner of aquatic, flying, stinging, clawing, bitey things. When someone gets killed doing that sort of thing, it’s a good lesson for the kids. I think it lends credibility when you tell them not to pet strange dogs that are foaming at the mouth. “Don’t pet that dog, Timmy. If you do, you might be killed by an entirely different animal that is not normally considered dangerous. Remember the Crocodile Hunter.”

I remind you that the Crocodile Hunter is the same guy who in 2004 famously fed wild crocodiles with one hand while holding his infant son in the other. Just be glad the Croc Hunter didn’t have triplets because you know he would have tried juggling them.

It seems weird to me that the stingray that got him is now the world’s most famous aquatic creature and doesn’t even know it. He’s probably floating around eating kelp or whatever-the-hell stingrays eat, oblivious to the fact that he’s as famous as O.J. I hope he gets a book deal because I’d like to hear his side of the story. I realize that stingrays have brains the size of a dried raisin, but that doesn’t stop athletes from writing books. All you need is a good co-author.

STINGRAY: “Well, I was minding my own business, eating kelp or whatever-the-hell I eat, when this guy jumps in the water and yells ‘Crikey!’ like a crazy seal. So I killed him and then hired a co-author who is both handsome and talented. You will find his contact information in the back of this well-written book.”

thats awful everyone should stop dissing steve irwin. Imagin how his family is feeling hearing all this. From a bunch of jealous snobs who didn’t even know him, well the majority of Ausies loved irwin and his zoo, so you need to stop dissing him… unless you want to become really unpopular, no doubt that u already are anyway.

I didn’t find Adam Scott’s remarks at all offensive and I’m sorry he felt he had to pull them. The death of a very public person warrants public comment. There’s no shortage of sycophantic tributes from people who never knew the man if that’s all you want to read.

It seems fitting actually, more part of Australian culture (remember the ‘dingo ate my baby’ jokes) than the present over-the-top media circus. His family do not deserve to have their grief hijacked.

Absolute rubbish. Who are these self-appointed sanctimonious wowsers who decide when and where comment regarding someone who has died can resume? (Anything other than fawning idolatry, of course.)

I don’t think what Adam Scott had to say was that offensive. Sure, he didn’t follow the pack like a group of thoughtless sheep, but hells bells, he isn’t exactly saying anything that is a piss-me-off.

Why the bloody hell did he pull the blog? Political Correctness in death – gone mad?

Mind you, as an Aussie, I didn’t always appreciate Irwin when he was around, but sure as shit, I am gutted now he is dead!

Unfortunate deaths beget unfortunate jokes. Speaking as an Australian, I can tell you that in this country, if there wasn’t a bit of piss-taking about someone who died, that person wasn’t really considered that highly. It’s how we express affection. Sometimes…

To most Aussies, Steve Irwin was a bit of a joke but got grudging respect because so many deprived people all over the world thought he was wonderful the way he antagonised animals to get a bit of a reaction out of them. I guess he brought out the “great white Hunter” in so many people who would never get the chance to tangle with wild life or to ever visit this great country. RIP Steve and all the animals he once annoyed.

Lighten up dudes, Steve Irwin’s death is a “tragedy” no more and no less than any death. All sanctimonious wankers who censure any opinion other than the media-led me-too-me-too variety need hanging up by the ankles and shooting . . . slowly . . . get a life, get a sense of proportion, and get a fuggin sense of humour.
The most worrying aspect of this is the withdrawal of the original article, or at least the apparent reasons for it.

That would be Scott Adams not Adam Scott.

It was a funny post. Too bad he decided to pull it.

I cannot see any reason why Scott Adams should have pulled the blog he wrote.Political correctness is making sniveling cowards of us all. What he said wasn’t distasteful–it was the truth. I’ve seen several jokes online already that actually were offensive. The Adams blog was just a bit of humor, and in no way did I feel it was insulting to Irwin.

Sanctimonious critics need to lighten up. Like it or not, in today’s world, jokes are inevitable following the death of any celebrity, no matter how sad the circumstances or how loved the celebrity.

Mia, have you conducted a poll to see how many Australian “loved irwin and his zoo”? Has Roy Morgan? Honestly you have no idea how many people “loved irwin and his zoo”! A lot of people certainly seem to have been “moved” by this tragic accident but I would be careful before making sweeping statements such as this. Also, you shouldn’t be dissing people who have an opinion different to your own. Don’t believe that I don’t feel for his wife and children – they have lost a husband and father. No family deserves that. Luckily I think they will be pretty comfortable financially – more so than most families who lose a bread-winner – so it’s not like they have to dread a life in the welfare queue. But that is not the reason I feel the way I do about Steve Irwin. I think Germaine Greer put it best. I support her view and that’s all I can say. Steve Irwin may have been a “great conservationist” but most of all he was a celebrity. And it’s unfortunate that when a celebrity dies the media uses it as a means to “sell” news.

What a lot of people forget is the Australian sense of humour.

Steve Irwin would have offered to be the stingray’s bloody agent in any such book deal imagined – for 25% of the take. Just aniother small Australian joke – but one Steve Irwin would probably have appreciated! He used to take the piss out of himself regularly.

Didn’t know him personally, but by all accounts a bloody good bloke.

Who the bloody hell is Adam Scott anyway aside from the No.6 golfer in the world? I’m not sure that Adam Scott even has a blog anyway, but I’m also pretty sure that wouldn’t like being defamed on this blog however unintentionally.

It must be Scott Adams of Dilbert fame!
