Who the bloody hell is Adam Scott anyway aside from the No.6 golfer in the world? I’m not sure that Adam Scott even has a blog anyway, but I’m also pretty sure that wouldn’t like being defamed on this blog however unintentionally.

What a lot of people forget is the Australian sense of humour.

Steve Irwin would have offered to be the stingray’s bloody agent in any such book deal imagined – for 25% of the take. Just aniother small Australian joke – but one Steve Irwin would probably have appreciated! He used to take the piss out of himself regularly.

Didn’t know him personally, but by all accounts a bloody good bloke.

Mia, have you conducted a poll to see how many Australian “loved irwin and his zoo”? Has Roy Morgan? Honestly you have no idea how many people “loved irwin and his zoo”! A lot of people certainly seem to have been “moved” by this tragic accident but I would be careful before making sweeping statements such as this. Also, you shouldn’t be dissing people who have an opinion different to your own. Don’t believe that I don’t feel for his wife and children – they have lost a husband and father. No family deserves that. Luckily I think they will be pretty comfortable financially – more so than most families who lose a bread-winner – so it’s not like they have to dread a life in the welfare queue. But that is not the reason I feel the way I do about Steve Irwin. I think Germaine Greer put it best. I support her view and that’s all I can say. Steve Irwin may have been a “great conservationist” but most of all he was a celebrity. And it’s unfortunate that when a celebrity dies the media uses it as a means to “sell” news.

I cannot see any reason why Scott Adams should have pulled the blog he wrote.Political correctness is making sniveling cowards of us all. What he said wasn’t distasteful–it was the truth. I’ve seen several jokes online already that actually were offensive. The Adams blog was just a bit of humor, and in no way did I feel it was insulting to Irwin.

Sanctimonious critics need to lighten up. Like it or not, in today’s world, jokes are inevitable following the death of any celebrity, no matter how sad the circumstances or how loved the celebrity.

Lighten up dudes, Steve Irwin’s death is a “tragedy” no more and no less than any death. All sanctimonious wankers who censure any opinion other than the media-led me-too-me-too variety need hanging up by the ankles and shooting . . . slowly . . . get a life, get a sense of proportion, and get a fuggin sense of humour.
The most worrying aspect of this is the withdrawal of the original article, or at least the apparent reasons for it.
