PlayStation 3 launch delayed for Europe and others

Sony blames the delay on production issues with blue laser diodes needed for the Blu-ray (and HD DVD) Disc drives. I guess its like a father blaming the mother for bring up a spoiled child. Now it makes sense now why that pink ps2 will be making an appearance in UK at christmas. Seriously, will a new PS2 pink win the heart of many? Sony, you’re as good as dead. Microsoft and Xbox will give you guys the kiss of death.
This is not a surprise after Sony’s track record and will no doubt give more weight and a stronger case to those who say Sony is treating the UK & Europe like second class customers.

September 6th, 2006I think that Sony looses more and more of the big games console business – and finally the big player Microsoft will rule this market segment too.

September 6th, 2006that is bad. if microsoft wins, there would be no more innovation, just like what happen to the OS, Internet Browser, PDAs and many more. it simply dies off…

September 7th, 2006I had the chance to judge the PS2 and the XBOX:
First I tried the PS2 – lovely nice console, giving you a lot of features (DVD Player) for free. And by publishing the EyeToy:play and Singstar products they did very well. But the normal Gamepad is a total fault for me – it fit’s not right in the hand and often the controls are a bit unlogical (for me).
The XBOX has the better gamepad and the games look better. But the normal XBOX misses the DVD functionality (you need the RC) and some gadgets like EyeToy you’ll miss.
But if you have a modded XBOX – man you’re in Gamers Paradise :)
IMHO Sony should focus on the fields they master – it is the best party entertainment console! Maybe the PS3 will be challenging the X360…
