Do you Yahoo? Get a Free Coffee From Yahoo!

Yahoo! has launched “Do You Yahoo!” marketing campaign to draw more user to their search engine - in other words, trying to emulate Google. Nobody says Yahoo the internet, but people seems to be saying Google thenet for this and that. Weird, that is bad news for Google, because the word “Google” might be a verb and if it ever enter the english dictonary, then Google might lose its right to “Google” like how Sony lost the “Walkman” word.

Back to the coffee thing, Yahoo free coffee giveaway requires you to bookmark their site as your homepage and by doing so, you’re entitle to one free 16 oz. cup of Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee. Only at certain participating Dunkin’ Donuts retail locations in the U.S. while supplies last.

Wal-Mart leaks Zune price

With all the hype in the soon to be launch Microsoft Zune, I think the guys in Wal-Mart tries to capture some free attention from the blogging world - by accidentally releasing the yet to be announce price tag for Microsoft Zune. I’m not sure if they done that on purpose or its an act of mistake - but one thing for sure, its gonna reflect bad on Wal-Mart on the long run.

Would be buyers now has a $284 price tag from Wal-Mart imprint into their mind, and they’ll compare the $284 price with other stores. End of the day, its gonna be $284 vs “cheaper than $284″. Most of these people won’t even bother checking the price. With Apple fighting back by lowering the ipod price and up the spec, $284 is alot when you compare it with Apple’s ipod. Microsoft - please lower the price and hire some real designers.

Apple phone on track for early ‘07 ?

September 16, 2006 · Filed Under Computer Gadgets & Hardware · Comment

Think secret has this article of Apple’s latest and soon to be release super toy for adults. Its a Apple Phone for the masses. Now, I can’t really imagine that, seeing that ipod is a run away success in the portal music player market doesn’t mean Apple’s phone will be the next Motorola Razr or the LG’s Chocolate.

Apple’s product has this cool factor, like marijuana. Hooking a person into wanting more but when it comes to serious buyers, Apple lost it all. Just take a look at their ipod player. Every year they increase the capacity and shrink it a little, there is virtually no major improvement. Yeah, it plays video - so what? Sandisk Sansa music player doesn’t have the cool factor that ipod has, but interm of features, Sansa is loaded and the best part is it has a FM Tuner.

At the time, Apple was said to be encountering “significant technological hurdles” in its attempts to essentially re-invent the cell phone with an innovative ground-up design. Since then, Apple has scaled back its ambitions and has opted to go with several off-the-shelf parts for what will be the first of at least two or three different phones that sources say Apple hopes to deliver in 2007.

Apple’s product are usually over-price with limited features and locked into a whole of its own. Bill Gates was right when he predicted the death of mac during th 80’s and early this year, again he predicted that iPod will share the same fate, a slow and painful death. Let’s face it, to be able to lock a person into a single format is an up hill battle, for example the mp3 player format is the de facto of digital music, not even Microsoft with their WMA format can unseat it, let alone Apple’s AAC format - unless Apple open up their iTunes digital store and allow competitors with the ability to sell AAC format.

I’m thinking of getting a portal music player, flash based and there is a very high percentage that it won’t be Apple’s iPod. Sandisk Sansa is too good to be true, the smaller version runs on AAA battery meaning to say that I don’t have to buy those expensive Li-on battery like how Apple force their loyal customer replace an expansive battery.

Apple is good, but it could have been great if Steve Jobs were to run it like a business man, but then again, if Steve were to run it that way, then Apple would not have been what it is today - unique. Let us hope the next generation iPod comes with a FM Tuner. Forget about the video and games, I’m too old for that.

First Aid Awareness

 DO YOU KNOW FIRST AID?

Most of us know what a heart attack is, or the many other sudden sickness, but most us don’t know how to help these kind of people when they are in need. The international red cross is raising awarness around World First Aid Day by placed life size realistic decals of a person at the bottom stairwells in Cineplex Odeon Theatres in Toronto.

Its a picture pasted onto the floor, don’t be fool by it. The whole campaign might back fire, imagine someone freak out because of the advertisement, worst case senario would be some doctor or nurse rush like a mad person all the way to help out. It sure is embarrassing.

Your portrait painted like a propaganda poster

The reproduction is faithful to the original and Pierre’s face “fits” perfectly. You could almost mistake him for this Model Peasant who “works hard to obtain a bumper harvest”. Now it’s your turn to be an authentic Socialist Hero.

All you have to do is to take a picture of yourself and e-mail it to them, the best part is you will receive a free mock-up and a quotation, and if both parties agree on the fees, then they’ll paint an exact copy of the propoganda painting with your face in it. Cool right? Visit the Website, Maopost.com for more information.
