DVD Jon cracks iPod code
DVD Jon did it again, the guy that manage to crack the DVD piracy code seems to have found a way to not unlock Apple’s Fairplay system, but by adding a layer of code that enable other manufacture the ability to built portable players that play the Apple’s itunes music.
It appears that Johansen’s technique involves tricking an iPod into thinking it’s playing an iTunes-purchased song by emulating FairPlay. According to Jon, this whole thing is legal because his software do not remove any protection.
When he was 15, [Jon Lech] Johansen got frustrated when his DVDs didn’t work the way he wanted them to. “I was fed up with not being able to play a movie the way I wanted to play it,” that is, on a PC that ran Linux….To fix the problem, he and two hackers he met online wrote a program called DeCSS, which removed the encryption that limits what devices can play the discs. That meant the movies could be played on any machine, but also that they could be copied. After the program was posted online, Johansen received an award from the Electronic Frontier Foundation - and a visit from Norwegian police.
Johansen, now 22 and widely known as “DVD Jon” for his exploits, has also figured out how Apple’s iPod-iTunes system works. And he’s using that knowledge to start a business that is going to drive Steve Jobs crazy….Johansen has written programs that get around those restrictions: one that would let other companies sell copy-protected songs that play on the iPod, and another that would let other devices play iTunes songs. Starting this fall, his new company, DoubleTwist, will license them to anyone who wants to get into the digital-music business - and doesn’t mind getting hate mail from Cupertino.
Making REAL Money From Google Adsense
Almost every geek or computer nerd has a blog and what they are likely to blog about is nothing but gadgets and computer stuff. Let face it, geeks knows nothing but computer and technology and the whole blogging community is full of these tech blog, especially blogs about adsense.
According to technoranti, 9 out of 15 of the tags have got something to do with computers. Can you see how crowded is the market? Here is a screen shot below.
Okay, now what are my chances of making money by blogging something that not many geek wants to blog about, or something that these geeks has little knowledge about. let us look at a comparison between two keywords, one that is tech related while the other is a non-geek term. Firefox and Nike.
I bet most (not all) computer nerds enjoy sports, and the result from Google Trends is:
There you go, a good comparison from Google Trends and this goes to show that the number fo people searching for Firefox and Nike are more or less same, but blogs that blog about things like fashion are rare. For example, girls don’t know much about blogs, well.. maybe they know how to blog but not all of them know how to tweak the html code and how to place adsense for higher earnings. These are niche markets that we (geeks) should explore.
Any read about the Blue Ocean Strategy book? Personally I believe it’s a very good book, a book about how to explore niche market and create a new territory, a new world.
If you’re serious about making money like Darren Rowse, the only way to be like him is not to be him. I know a lot of people try to emulate Bill Gates and those entire rich tycoons. The fact is there can only be one Bill Gates, just be yourself and if luck is on your side, then you are someone in no time.
What we need to know is how to explore these niche markets, currently I’m looking asking some of my female friends on the idea of a co-blogging. (Am I the first person using this word?). Well, the idea is female topics like fashion, gossips, make-ups and many more consider “niche market” in the sense that most of these blogs has no adsense in them. My goal? Find a partner (you should) and co-blog with her.
p.s. I have a personal blog, mainly about arts and design and this blog has less post than geckoandfly.com but almost 10 times the adsense income. Now you see the earning power writting for a niche market. What are you guys waiting for? Find a good topic and please blog something that you like and has knowledge about, don’t copy and past and a big no for those Mesothelioma Cancer topic. I hate it when bloggers tend to target high paying keywords.

Crack Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) Genuine Windows Validation
I simply hate to say this, only after one day the IE7 make it to the masses, cracks for Internet Explorer has surface allowing pirated Windows XP user to install it in their computer. Tell me again, why do you need IE7 when you have Firefox 2.0 for free and with no cracks to play around with.
IE7 will also be distributed and released as high-priority update via Automatic Updates in November 2006. Installation of IE7 needs a genuine Windows, which will be validated during setup process. And crack to install IE7 for failed WGA validate system already available
Apple iPod with Virus

Internet Explorer 7 is ready for download
The final non-Beta version of Internet Explorer 7 is out now and like all Microsoft product, this is an imitation of Firefox like what Zune is to iPod and what Windows Vista is to Mac O/S. The bad news for user of pirated Windows XP and Vista is that you’re not able to use it. That is fine with everyone, who needs Internet Explorer 7 anyway? I’m happy with my Firefox, and there is no pirated version or crack for Internet Explorer 7, why would you need one anyway?
For web developers, today is the day all IE7/ CSS rendering bugs on your pages (if any) become official, too… which is a good news because today is my last day working and since blogger had update their system to a new CSS style system, I need all the time to recode and clean up all those Blogger Templates.
Back to Internet Explorer 7, for those who install a pirated version of Windows Xp, here are two screenshot for your eyes. Nothing to shout about, and yes it does look like another Firefox with feed and tab browsing. learn to be creative Microsoft, you’re nothing but a big bully.
Tab browsing? That is so old school. Give me something better!

I am stress out
This would be my first post about myself, I hate those blogs that talks nothing but themself and I guess I am one of them now. My partner is no longer with this blog and I’m running the show alone, comments are pilling up on the Blogger Templates section and I simply couldn’t find the time to update and correct all the errors. Sorry…
Today is suppose to be my last day, but my boss is dragging his feet… not wanting to look for people to replace me. I’m stress with the workload and not able to concentrate on my work because I’m looking forward to that long holiday.
I don’t know how many fans geckoandfly have but I’ll continue blogging, maybe something different now… maybe something more healthy. Suggestion? How is the new layout? You got a template to share? then host it here… hmm… I was thinking of this link sharing this. You know, you do a short intro of GeckoandFly to your readers and I’ll post a link at the header of this blog. Cool right? just an idea.
Anyway, I’m trying my luck now in ebay. I need to find ways to generate multiple incomes. Blogging is no easy money making tool, i need something solid. Someone enlighten me please.
