Mozilla Releases Firefox 2.0 RC3

Mozilla has released Firefox 2.0 RC3 to the public. This is the last developmental for Firefox 2.0 and work has already commenced on Firefox 3.0. Firefox 2.0 has tons of new features compared to its 1.5.0.x predecessors. With the current on slaughter, IE is losing share everyday to Firefox, good for your Bill Gates - I hate Mircosoft business tactics but not all of their products - I love hotmail and msn.

“The difference between RC2 and RC3 is basically a small set of some stability fixes and some small security issues that we wanted to make sure made the release,” Mozilla’s vice president for engineering, Mike Schroepfer told internetnews.com.

Anyway the changes include :

    - Improved tabbed browsing
    - Previewing and subscribing to Web feeds
    - an updated user interface
    - built-in anti-phishing
    - inline spell checking
    - improved tabbed browsing
    - search capabilities
    - browser session recovery

If you happen to be a Firefox fan and also a Blogger Blogspot user, then try the Blogger Firefox Template. Simple and clean layout.

Toshiba’s 360 Degree Panorama Bubble Helmet

Toshiba’s Strange Bubble Helmet

Ladies and gents, Toshiba’s Bubble Helmet that looks like a space helmet claims that it gives gamer a 360 degree panorama view. That’s weird because I didn’t know that our neck can be that flexible in term of viewing angle. Interesting halloween costume, goes well with a space suit. Can I breath inside the “shell”? I think it would work great together with Nintendo’s Wii Console system. Imagine fighting enemies in a 360 degree panorama view with a Wii remote controler. That would be fun. Maybe in the next few years when these technology mature.

Quit Smoking Advertisements

One of the many reasons to pick up smoking is the cool factor, undeniably, tobacco companies through out the world are aggressively promoting the idea of smokers as filthy rich, successful, hip, cool, and many more. According to research, smoking kills, it causes lungs cancer.

Here are some useful tips:

  • Spend as much free time as you can where smoking isn’t allowed. Some good places are malls, libraries, museums, theaters, department stores, and places of worship.
  • Do you miss having a cigarette in your hand? Hold something else. Try a pencil, a paper clip, a marble, or a water bottle.
  • Do you miss having something in your mouth? Try toothpicks, cinnamon sticks, lollipops, hard candy, sugarfree gum, or carrot sticks.
  • Drink a lot of water and fruit juice. Avoid drinks like wine and beer. They can trigger you to smoke.

I called my father to inform him that I’ve decided to quit smoking, he called him a quitter.

Ms Dewey Search Engine

Ms Dewey Search Engine

This must be the world’s stupidest and annonying search engine ever coded by human beings. So much time and effort went into it and I can only say - it sucks. The app also had my Firefox crawling on its knees, lagging it to snail pace. The search results are irrelevant to what I am looking for, on top of that, she is super annonying and she thinks she is funny.

I don’t think it’s clever enough to be funny… and it’s not really clever enough to be clever. And “Ms. Dewey” annoys the hell out of me! It’s a shame really, because I thought it actually looked quite good before I tried using it.. - Tony Ruscoe

“I’m Not Impressed by Zune.” said Steve Jobs

Not Impressed by Zune said Steve Jobs

What can I say about Microsoft Zune? I’ve yet to get my hands on one and it is highly unlikely I’ll get one ever. Steve Jobs was not impress, the marketing guru that re-shape the entire Apple computers and eventually the way corporate market their product is right about it. I’ve I were given a choice to choose between an iPod and a Zune, I’ll definately go for an iPod even if the price is the same. Maybe iPod has the cool factor and its an Apple, not to mention that Zune’s design is a big let down. Read : Zune vs. iPod

In an interview with Newsweek’s Senior Editor Steven, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs says he is unconcerned that iPod might lose its cache because it’s too popular. “That’s like saying you don’t want to kiss your lover’s lips because everyone has lips. It doesn’t make any sense,” he tells Levy. “We don’t strive to appear cool. We just try to make the best products we can. And if they are cool, well, that’s great.”

bbPress Forum easy simple free best

I bet almost every blogger heard of Wordpress, its easy to install and tweak. Now these guys behind Wordpress has just release bbPress, a simple yet powerful forum for bloggers. The best part is it works flawless with Wordpress as they claim but I seems to have problem integrating both of them.

One of the key feature bbPress has is the Akismet spam filter, its the best spam filter I’ve ever come across, better than any other spam filter out there in the market and the best part is its free to use.

Google Adsense is the future

Small Companies & Google Adsense is the future

Markus Frind is a local Vancouverite, Canadian. His free online dating site turn the whole world upside down, working alone at home, his one man show company plentyoffish.com has 500million page views per month and is making well over USD10,000 per day. Just imagine that, a one man show running a multi million dollar site. He did posted a picture of him holding two months worth of Google Adsense earning, which is kind of weird because didn’t Google said no showing off your check and earnings?

I sometimes wonder if i’m crazy for not going paid, and passing up 100’s of millions a year in revenue. But i created this site to change the world, and make money at the same time. I may not make $20 million a month like the other sites my size but google pays me good money :) My effective CPM (under $1.00) may be very very low, but when you have a site this huge it really ads up. - by Markus Frind CEO of Plentyoffish.com

I notice something about all these site that manage to break the USD10,000 mark, they have something in common - ugly. No doubt about that, come to think of it, their website is really an eyesore and I couldn’t agree more with what seroundtable wrote - visitors tend to click on the ads because they are desperate to get out of the site and thus the best exit route would be thru the ads itself. I couldn’t agree more with that.

Wrapping Sexy Images Around Google Adsense

October 15, 2006 · Filed Under Contextual Advertising · 6 Comments

Google Adsense allows publisher the freedom to put images around adsense ads on an especific blog. According to the adsense team it was ok to use it provided that it was within our moral judgement. Kind of abstract right? This is what the Google Adsense team has to say:

You’re welcome to place images near the Google ads on your site. However, we ask that publishers not place misleading images near Google ads or use images that appear to be directly associated with the advertisers and their offerings. Such images may draw undue attention to the ads and prompt unintentional user clicks, thereby artificially inflating advertiser costs. As you may know, drawing undue attention to ads is in violation of our program policies, so we’re unable to approve the placement of all images next to Google ads.

I wonder if these publisher ever thought of the consequences, its kind of like cheating as we all know these sexy images really do attract visitors. Breaking adsense simple rules is not even worth the risk, I guess these publisher don’t think long term. They are simply impatient.

Google Gdrive

Google Gdrive

According to source, Google is testing a new software application called Platypus. Its a unlimited storage space called Gdrive for user to store almost anything they want, I’m not so sure about mp3 and videos but this new feature sound promising, but then again it might be a hoax.

Both the URL for http://www.platypus.com and http://www.gdrive.com don’t seems to be under Google’s list of registered domain names and consider the fact that they’ve leak out the code name, the owner for these domain names are millionaires now. Google doesn’t just want to be the internet, they want the PC to be on the internet! This is the repeat of 1980 when Microsoft battle Apple for the desktop market and now Google vs Microsoft for the internet market. Who is gonna be the winner?

We encourage you to keep all of your files with us, including your Office documents, photos, and personal notes, except for sensitive data (including electronic protected health information) and other files inconsistent with the internal user agreement.

*Answer.com explains that a platypus is a “semiaquatic egg-laying mammal (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) of Australia and Tasmania, having a broad flat tail, webbed feet, and a snout resembling a duck’s bill.”

gmail spam maximum space limit full

As a blogger, I hate comment spam, they just kept on coming in and consume your bandwidth like nobody’s business. The other type of spam I hate the most is email spam, seriously I don’t need those pills that make my dick another inch longer and sorry mr.spammer I don’t need all those blue films and again I repeat myself, I don’t need all those things. The worst spam message I’ve ever come accross is spam mail that ask you to purchase a spam guard software, its like asking a robber to guard you house.
