Windows XP Running on PS3

November 25, 2006 · Filed Under Gadgets · Comment

Some guy manage to get Windows XP running on a Playstation 3 via Linux/QEMU. Seems to me the booting process is somewhat extremely lagging, possibly due to the fact that it is highly emulated. If only Windows XP runs on PS3 out of the box, 3D artist would be the first to purchase that machine for 3D rendering. If this is what is being accomplished just 7 days after this console’s release, I cannot imagine what are the possibilities within a year.

Apple Pro Mouse Beltbuckle

Apple Pro Mouse Beltbuckle

Here is a good example of recycling your unwanted computer hardwares. The all new Optical beltbuckle.

I have an Apple Pro Mouse that stopped working. I thought I would tear it aprt to see how it worked before I threw it away, at the very least I could salvage the LED from it. As I held it in my hand I realized it was the right size and shape to become a belt buckle. With it’s two-layer construction, the design could be custom and interchangeable. - Link

Paid Blogging or Review Could Harm Your Search Engine Ranking

Review Could Harm Your Search Engine Ranking

Digital Inspiration has an interesting article on programs like Review Me and Pay-Per-Post. Programs like Review Me and Pay-Per-Post works by giving you a small amount of money requiring you to write a post about certain product by acting as the middle man. Profit are shared, 50-50. From what I’ve read, some reviews could fetch as much as USD100 per post.

Matt Cutts has given strong hints that participating in controversial programs like ReviewMe or PayPerPost, that pay bloggers for writing about advertiser’s product or services, may jeopardize the search engine rankings of your blog. - DI

My advise is, don’t sign up for such programs. No because of the possibility drop in search engine ranking but the idea of indirectly feeding your readers with unwanted advertisement/spam.

Towcycle - Japanese Way of Towing a Car

Japanese Way of Towing a Car

Here is another unique Japanese invention, personally I think this towcycle comes in handy when small vehicle breaks down. Especially when there is a mass jam and only accessible by bikes.

Now keep in mind the Towcycle is probably no where near as versatile as an actual tow-truck but apparently they’ve been used in the UK at least where narrow roads can occasionally cause problems for full sized trucks.

24-carat gold HP Laserjet p2015

24-carat gold HP Laserjet p2015

This is not another Dolce & Gabbana Gold Edition Restaurant and Motorola Gold Razr. Currently on sale in Japan at the GITEX show, auction price starts at USD299 and comes coated with 24-carat gold.

Hp printers are not as cheap as what its competitor has to offer, the toner cost as much as the printer but somehow HP has the ability to retain and capture new market. I guess it must be their reliability and after sales services. I have a Canon S6300 Printer and a Canon Camera, both seems to break down after 6 months. I have to feed the paper one by one to avoid paper jam and my Canon camera has some focusing problem, they are charging USD125 to update the software. No more Canon.

Google’s Market Value Above $150 Billion

November 22, 2006 · Filed Under Silicon Valley · Comment

<a href=google make money online” />

With Google’s stock at USD500 mark, this is good news to all Adsense publisher especially those that is making a living from Google Adsense. Google is everything to me, it is the web’s operating system and not even Yahoo can replace Google. For the past few days, my ISP has some problem connecting to certain sites from America e.g. Google, only then did I notice that I’m so lost without Google. Using Yahoo for the past few days is like going back to the mid 90’s.

Mountain View-based Google closed Tuesday at $509.65, giving the search engine-turned-media heavyweight a market capitalization of $156 billion and making the eight-year-old firm more valuable than Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Coca-Cola, Mitsubishi, Chevron and AT&T

Google is using the Web as an operating system by offering free Rich Internet Applications. I have been using Google Doc and Spreadsheets, the only drawback is the internet connection. It would be nice if Google provide a lite edition for installation.
