Blogger Beta: Eigenschaft komplett!
3. November 2006 · Darunter eingeordnet Blogging

Danke.

3. November 2006@ stjin V.
You have to sign up for the beta, if you have a link in your blogger page after you sign in you can convert your blog to the better. If you’re using a custom template tho it might not convert all of the code to the new Blogger format, so it won’t change, but you might not have extras like a Label Sidebar, etc
btw let’s get those new beta templates up! :)

November 4th, 2006@ Steven: Thanks for the reply. I have both old and new blogs, but haven’t noticed a button to convert my old blogs to the new version. I’ve logged into both, but did not notice anything. Must be something wrong somewhere. I’ll try again with a different browser.

November 4th, 2006Edit: I think I figured out what the problem is. According to blogger help, there are some blogs that won’t be able to migrate.

November 5th, 2006i noticed that the button to migrate to Blogger V3 don’t’ appears in Safari. I did this test with Safari and Firefox. At the same moment Firefox showed the button, Safari showed the Google Search.
To switch asap, you need to delete all your team, go back to your dashboard, save and republish, loug out, and wait 2-3mn, log in, and voila.
I did it for 2 blogs, and i was able to migrate these 2 blogs in a rown!;)

November 5th, 2006Hello Gecko, I just read your request for coders earlier http://www.geckoandfly.com/2006/10/30/blogger-beta-templates/ to convert your template to Blogger Beta.
If you still need it I would be honored to convert your templates. I have been experimenting with the XML blogger now use for a bit.

November 5th, 2006@ Khong Co Ai: I tried again with removing all teammembers from each blog, but upgrading still failed. I can only see one reason why it won’t work, and that’s I have too many blogposts. Blogger said problems might be expected with large blogs (thousands of posts), but I only have about 600 posts. I’m finding this really very annoying as I would like to start working on a new template.
(Argh, sorry for venting my frustration inhere. Maybe it can be of some use to other people with a similar problem.)

November 6th, 2006Stijn,
Yep u r right, the process could be a bit longer than usual, if you got too many blog. But in fact is simple:
1-Open a blogger account (blogger not Beta Blogger),
2-Go back to your main account and invit the new account.
-4 Check your mail (new acount mail) accept the invitation
-5 go back to your main account and give the full administration rights to the new account.
-6 go to your new account, and delete your old account (yeah u can do it! So be careful when you give the fulls right to yours new menbers).
-7 Republish, log out, wait and see.;)

November 6th, 2006Yeah it s time to convert everything.
LEt’s start by the 5 most dowloaded templates.
So, which ones?
GeckoFly
November 6th, 2006from my observation. its K2 and anything from andreas.

November 6th, 2006Templates: I’d go with Kubrick (nostalgia), K2 (very popular) and Andreas04 (loads of possibilities).
Upgrade (@ khong co ai): That sounds rather tricky. I think I understand what you mean, but it sounds rather tricky and I don’t want to delete my old account. All comments I ever made on blogger would be useless if they redirect to non-existant url. I’ll just wait it out.

November 6th, 2006Stijn,
You will not loose anything, i did it, it was fine, and on you migrate to your Blogger 3, all your blogger account will be under the same Google account.
Steven
November 7th, 2006Andreas02 if you could kca, I would help but I’m not too good with xml, lol.
@Stijin that makes no senses, are you FTP’ing or do you just have a lot of teammembers.
All Blogger does when it converts you blog is update your dashboard and allows you to add labels to posts, it doesn’t change all your posts or delete them. You’d also need to update to a (Beta) template if you want your labels to be visible on the site or to have all the new coding (widgets). My template hasn’t been updated with the migration really, they just changed some of the header stuff, my post still uses the $BlogPost$ stuff. kca is just trying to get your a new Google account as opposed to your Blogger account
