Linksys iPhone or Apple iPhone

iPhone is here, but not from Apple. Infogear beats Apple to the name “iphone” when they register it in the year 1996 , subsequently Infogear was acquired by Cisco in the year 200, making them the trademark holder for the name “iPhone”. Ironic?

Cisco has owned the trademark on the iPhone brand since 2000, when it acquired Infogear—which had registered the name in 1996. Infogear showed an Internet appliance bearing the iPhone name at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 1997.

    Methinks Apple will have a bit of a problem if they’ll try to market it under that name. (Small typo in the second sentence btw.)
