Google Jokes - Cheeses on Moon

In honor of the first manned Moon landing, which took place on July 20, 1969, Google added some NASA imagery to the Google Maps interface to help you pay your own visit to our celestial neighbor. You’ll see cheese if you zoom into the Moon… really! Zoom real close into it…

Another Reason Why I Choose Wordpress

Another Reason Why I Choose Wordpress

I am blogging at i5bala.blogspot.com, quite happy with the Google Blogger platform and my Blog is having good page rank too. But now, things are turning bad towards me, just 4 days back my blog has been blocked by the Blogger’s spam-prevention robots, saying:

This blog has been locked by Blogger’s spam-prevention robots. You will not be able to publish your posts, but you will be able to save them as drafts.” (screenshot)

This was really shocking to me and I am not able to understand how my Blog has been marked as Spam blog! Due to this I am not able to post any new posts and I am feeling really very bad :( , as I am quite addicted with blogging.

I have submitted my request to Blogger to unlock my blog and I got a reply saying, some one will contact me shortly after reviewing my blog. It’s 4 days up and I have not yet received any updates.

Even just now, once again I have submitted my request to Blogger to unlock my blog (screenshot)…

I have even posted my problem in Google Groups “Blogger Help Group” forum. But still no reply :( , I find it really hard.

Now I really don’t know whom to contact and what to do.

Now you know why I stick with Wordpress. At least I have full control of it. Blogger still rocks when it comes to preventing spam comments, wordpress should have this central comment system - delete all duplicate comments across the board. I’ll go nuts if my blog was somehow inaccessible… maybe… maybe I won’t.

Mozilla secretly release the latest Firefox version 2.0.0.1 with hundreds of bugs fixed. That sure is alot of holes that mozilla plugged. This is a must have version. It is not on the official homepage yet, possibly to avoid a server overload problem like last time. Download the latest version on their FTP server.

Against Policy To Place Images Alongside Google Adsense

About my previous post on placing images beside Google Adsense Ads, this is the latest update from the adsense publisher, found via the official adsense blog:

Wrapping Sexy Images Around Google Adsense

Can I place small images next to my Google ads?

We ask that publishers not line up images and ads in a way that suggests a relationship between the images and the ads. If your visitors believe that the images and the ads are directly associated, or that the advertiser is offering the exact item found in the neighboring image, they may click the ad expecting to find something that isn’t actually being offered. That’s not a good experience for users or advertisers.

Publishers should also be careful to avoid similar implementations that people could find misleading. For instance, if your site contains a directory of Flash games, you should not format the ads to mimic the game descriptions.

What if I place a space or a line between my images and my ads? Would that work?

No. If the ads and the images appear to be associated, inserting a small space or a line between the images and ads will not make the implementation compliant.

I guess plugins like Adsense beautifier is illegal now… technically. It is a grey area, my advise is to play safe by not placing images alongside Google Adsense.

Linksys iPhone or Apple iPhone?

Linksys iPhone or Apple iPhone

iPhone is here, but not from Apple. Infogear beats Apple to the name “iphone” when they register it in the year 1996 , subsequently Infogear was acquired by Cisco in the year 200, making them the trademark holder for the name “iPhone”. Ironic?

Cisco has owned the trademark on the iPhone brand since 2000, when it acquired Infogear—which had registered the name in 1996. Infogear showed an Internet appliance bearing the iPhone name at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 1997.

Perez Hilton Celebrity Blog Sued

Perez Hilton Celebrity Blog Sued

Once a blogger becomes famous and his/her blog is making tons of money, the lawsuits join in. Perez Hilton, a celebrity gossip blog involved in a bitter $7.5 million lawsuit with a paparazzi photo agency. Reason being that he used or source images from the internet without permission.

Perez Hilton does sound like Paris Hilton.

He usually sources the pictures from the internet, a practice not liked by the media companies. In one case, Hilton had somehow obtained and posted the photos even before the actual owners had a chance to put them on its own website.

Now X17, a paparazzi photo agency, has decided to slap a $7.5 million lawsuit on Perez alleging that he has used 51 photos without permission, payment or credit.

Hilton is not willing to give up and says that he is fighting for the entire blogger industry. Will be a very interesting case to watch. - Digital Inspiration
