Which Laptop?

January 16, 2007 · Filed Under Life Log

I am thinking of getting a laptop, possibly an Acer ( not the Ferrari edition ). It is the Acer Aspire 9420. Personally I prefer Toshiba but Toshiba is kind of pricey. Dell Inspiron 9400 seems cool. What I am looking for is a 17 inch laptop, the bigger the better it is.

his would be my very first laptop, are laptop reliable? is Acer Reliable?

I can’t help you there because I’m on an IBM and it all depends on what you’re going to be using it for. Laptops are reliable (if it’s a good brand and if they don’t explode). If I had to pick I’d go for Dell (don’t ask me why). Just make sure you get at least a 3 year warranty. I went to Yangon (formerly Rangoon) with my laptop and the LCD got haywired. IBM replaced it for free ‘coz it was under warranty. If there are any design defects it’ll show up after a year for sure.

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron E1705. Nice laptop, big 17′ screen - love it!

I would say laptops are very relaible. I actually bought a cheap Averatec ($750) like two years ago and it has been my only computer since. I find that the benefits of having a laptop are well worth it. Just knowing that you have the potential to take it anywhere is worth something. Plus, it takes up so little space on your desk. I’d go with the best specs for the cheapest price regardless of name brand. That’s my two cents. Also, give a look at urbaneola.com if you get a chance. I appreciate it
