The high fat and sugar content of fast food IS fattening. Plus the high fat content gives it great "mouth appeal", so you want to (and do) eat more than you need. Malaysia sees a problem they can stop before the habit of fast food develops. They have enough fattening food of their own without yet more globalised junk food.
