Viacom to sue Google and YouTube for USD1Billion

The owner of MTV Networks decided to sue Google and YouTube for copyright violation, this would be an interesting court case and the out come would definitely change the way people share videos online. I still couldn’t figure it out why would Google buy YouTube when they know this sort of things would come, let YouTbe battle the court case and then bail them out like what happen to napster, provided the price is right.

Viacom’s claim says almost 160,000 unauthorized snippets of Viacom shows have been viewed more than 1.5 billion times on YouTube. Viacom also owns Paramount Pictures movie studios and the Nickelodeon cable network.
