Rumors has it that Google has acquire a minority stake in a Chinese/Israeli startup, which develops the infamous Maxthon browser. It has 80 million downloads so far and majority of the user are from China, it is believed that the browser contribute 25% of the search traffic to Baidu. We cannot confirm what is the motive behind the acquisition, but there might be a good chance Google might ditch Firefox Referral button in favor of Maxthon Browser.
