Yahoo FAQ page lost in time

I was searching for the Yahoo FAQ page and somehow I stumble upon this very old outdated page, dated back all the way to 1998. Brings back all those old memories of my net surfing days during the mid 90’s with a 14.4kbp modem, web pages back then was simple, low in resolution and the best part is spam blogs or pages was almost non-existence. The good old days…
Apple iPod FM Tuner?

Apple’s Mac sales up 44%, profit soars 88% — but iPods down, this could be a beginning of an end of the ipod era, but then again it might not be. According to reports, revenues were down year to year basis by 1% only, which is nothing much to shout about but I doubt it is a sign of an end. Steve Jobs is the world’s greatest salesman and by simply mapping out the technology features of the first generation ipod with the latest version, we know that Steve Jobs is introducing new features one at a time, slowly.
He could have just build an iPod with video playback, radio, wifi, huge storage, possibly a torchlight or bluetooh but he decided to take this introduction one at a time. Rumours has it that the next generation iPod is going to have a FM Tuner, which is something I’ve been waiting for a long time, if that doesn’t happen then I’ll get myself a Sony Walkman.
WordPress Theme Generator
Here is a simple tool for all those web master wanna be that has no knowledge in CSS and Html, Yvo Schaap has created a Wordpress theme generator with real-time preview for Wordpress blogging platform, I have no idea how this real-time preview works but this is the best tool a webmaster can have, imagine the nightmare saving and modifying the code again and again.
According to the author, the generator allows you to change the color scheme, layout, basically almost everything and when you’re done with it, you’ll be provided with a zip file for downloading. I used to remember there was a Blogger Template Generator but that was for the old classic html version, is there a Blogger XML template generator?
Mapping the casualties

Deaths of American coalition personnel are over 3,100, the Google earth map above shown each and every single American personnel’s home through out America. Sad but true, the war on terrorism has taken up too much lives, more than the 911 incident.
Acer Recall Laptop Batteries

Finally Acer is joining Dell in recalling 27,000 of the Sony made batteries for its laptop, Affected models include a slew of TravelMate and Aspire notebooks sold between May 2004 and November 2006, as usual the company will replace the battery for free and this would likely be a big blow to Sony and its battery division again.
Check the official Acer Battery Exchange Program for the list of batteries that might be affected, my Acer laptop was not affected. Thank God!
Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB Hard Disk

Hitachi 7K1000 deskstar hard disk is the latest offering from the company, with a capacity of 1TB and a price tag of $399, this massive 3.5-inch hard disk spins at 7,200 RPM. I have a 300GB removable hard disk and I find it almost impossible to fill it up with all my data, I can’t imagine myself having a 1TB hard disk but then again I might get one for myself end of the year, I was thinking of ripping all of my DVD collections into a hard disk for archiving and easy browsing - torrent?
For your information, Deskstar used to be part of IBM’s hard disk division but was sold off to Hitachi due to financial losses, I read somewhere that the America military uses Deskstar for their data storage, that was years ago. This goes to show the reliability of the hard disk, imagine a hard disk failure and the American military lost some of the nuclear warhead design.
Babel

I’ve just finish watching Babel and simply love it. Babel is a Golden Globe- and Academy Award-winning 2006 film, directed by Alejandro González, it is a story about love, hate, fear, anger… simply beautiful. Watch it!
Young C.Park P-51 Airplane Model
Young C. Park of Honolulu, Hawaii is a retired dentist who has been an aircraft modeler since childhood. He was born in Kona on the island of Hawaii on March 15, 1932 to immigrant parents who came from Korea in 1910. Retired at the age of 75, he is fullfiling his childhood dream of making model airplanes, I love those Tamiya models but Young’s P-51 airplane model has no match for Tamiya’s model. Just take a look at how detail is the model below:

Young Park’s P-51, like the first Corsair is paneled on the right side and cut away on the left side to show all the internal workings. See below for more photos. Click on the above photo to view a larger image. (Young Park photo)

Another view looking at the pilot’s controls inside the cockpit

Side view of engine compartment
The wing root view on the left side shows access into the wing as well into the cockpit with cutaway panels removed. Throttle controls run through tubes in the fuselage. Hydraulic lines can be seen inside the wing.
A detail shows the ammunition belt threading into the open receiver of one of the .50 caliber machine guns. (Y. Park photo)
