NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card is the latest offering from NVIDIA, a possible sign that the graphic card market is seeing a healthy competition again with the entry of AMD. The GeForce 8800 Ultra has 681 million transistors strong and features 128 stream processors in a unified shader architecture, here is the specification:

- 2.16 GHz memory clock
- 1500 MHz shader clock
- 612 MHz core clock

The world’s fastest graphic card comes with a price tag of $829, which makes me wonder if we were to compare it with a Playstation 3, would the GeForce 8800 out-perform the PS3 in term of speed and shading? if not, then why is it tend price so much higher that a PS3 considering the fact tha a PS3 cost as much as $600 (Sony subsidies $300 per unit but it comes with a blue-ray player, and many other goodies). Personally, I think the GeForce 8800 is an over price graphic card.
