RealPlayer 11 - Download Videos from YouTube
It appears that the soon to be release RealPlayer 11 has a new one click downloading button for user to download almost any video found online. This could literally put RealPlayer 11 as the preferred online video player. I’ve tried out the beta version and so far it is very promising, imagine downloading multiple videos from YouTube simultaneously. A real video download manager indeed.
“The new RealPlayer gives consumers more control of Internet video than was ever possible before,” said Rob Glaser, chairman and CEO of Real. “By floating a “download this video” button next to video seen on thousands of Web sites, RealPlayer makes it one-click simple.

Firefox 3 Alpha 5
New alpha release is the first to include the much-anticipated, database-driven revamp of the bookmarks feature called Places. With Places, your bookmarks and browsing history are stored in a SQLite database, which allows for better performance, more stability, and other features. Sounds like they’re going after del.icio.us

CEO steal property from Google
Lots of book publisher and writer are against the idea of digitalizing their content, one of the reason given was people might pirate these books in the near future just like how mp3s are traded online without paying any royalty fees.
Seriously, is it that bad? One thing for sure, Google do not publish the entire content of the book, they simply make the content searchable and if you happen to love the book, then purchase the physical copy of the book with one of their partners. Personally I believe this is a great idea.
Now, what happen in BookExpo America in NYC was CEO Richard Charkin went so far as to recruit a colleague and swipe a pair of laptops from a Google Books kiosk at the event. Reason given by him was to let Google taste their own medicine. Read more at TechDirt

Intel and Asustek Plans for low-cost laptop
Eat your heart out OLPC, it is a noble idea but I hate to admit that the design sucks, probably they design it that way so that there would be no second hand value. Well, anyway Intel and Asustek just announce a low-cost laptop that is small, portable, and light, it doesn’t spot any real processing power that will blow your brain away but it does have some really cool features.
The new Eee PC laptop, which costs just $200 aims to provide access to knowledge and modern forms of education to people in developing countries. Thus, Intel has named it as a “World Ahead” initiative.

Mazda Nagare
Mazda’s current design philosophy is moving in decidedly Zen style and this concept car sure is a killer, I am not a big fan of sports car but the Nagare really capture the idea and expression of flow and dynamic. It looks so calm and peaceful, I rate this car 5 stars out of 5, a winner!

Nintendo’s Wii Thrashing Playstation 3
Small is beautiful, the less powerful Nintendo Wii outsold the mighty Sony Playstation3 by more than five consoles to one in Japan and in the US the figure is about 4 -1, putting Sony’s mighty graphic processing power to shame.
Some of the possible reason are:
- Lack of games
- The high price
But then again, these consoles are only into their first year cycle and more to more, remember that Nintendo’s Wii is going after a totally different market, where else Sony Playstation 3 is for the grown ups.
Lasse Klein Alien Abduction Lamp
I hate to admit this but this is the best lamp I’ve ever seen - Alien Abduction Lamp, I mean I would love to have one but according to the artist Lasse Klein, this lamp is currently a conceptual model, so I guess we have to probably wait for another year or half.
