Today is the 40th anniversary of the famous Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot footage, taken at Bluff Creek, California. Bigfoot is one of the more famous examples of cryptozoology, a subject that the scientific community dismiss as pseudoscience because of unreliable eyewitness accounts, lack of scientific and physical evidence, and over-reliance on confirmation rather than refutation.
