   hi i want to make comment about your post.islam is diffrent with christian.We cannot name the thing with mohhamad.Even the mohamaad name is refer to the child name ini the class, but the name is still cannot name to the bear.What about if i call the pig or dog with your name.Are u okay? every time when i see pig i call with your name.Muhammad is mighty gif from allah.Whe live in the world should be respect with other religious.We never disturb or bother you all.I the the teacher is stuppid.Why don’t she use other name like Mimi.And if u said cannot what about if i call the pis is jesus christ.Are you oky.I don’t think so.

   The other thing in our live we cannot spread from religious.Anything we do should be ashamed our religious.I dont know your relegious.I think you should learn how to think be a good pearson thank you

   dear weirdo , since you brought that up , the teacher Gillian Gibbons have bought that teddy and named him her self , she came to the school the second day and showed everyone her cute teddy with the name muhammed as this is my muhammed , how would you think if i came to your school and showed everyone a teddy bear with the name of jess es i be like hey everyone this is my jesses , if that what you wanna hear the story of a sarcasms girl not a teacher i guess ,

   I guess there is a misunderstanding when it comes to the name Muhammed. Muhammed is a common name, just like Mary (Virgin Mary) and not to mention Madonna.

   If somebody named their toy Mary or Madonna, no one is going to shout ‘Lash him/her’

   Unless Muhammed is a unique name and only Nabi Muhammad uses the name alone, say, nobody named their child jesus, so, is it just how common the name is. I believe Gillian Gibbon has no ill intention.

   It’s possible that a combination of factors have led to the offensiveness of the bear’s name. First, the woman is not part of the muslim faith and second intention is irrelevant. Madonna and Jesus are not comparable in this case as names. However, the comparison to “jesus piss” is also not correct. If anything, it is simply seen as a trivialization of something important by naming a simple bear after someone so important…
   I think lashes are ridiculous. LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE!!

   Look, you can’t compare the separation of church and state in christian/secular countries to islamic ones. That’s the way they work things out and we don’t have the right to complain. It’s like visiting someone in their home, FOLLOW THE HOUSE RULES.

   Dear all of you,
   The teacher did not name the bear the kids did, the guy who talks about pigs named after people is obviously from islam or some other country because we OFTEN name animals after people, the bear wasnt real and the woman was there HELPING THE COUNTRY she also didnt know that islamic people dont name inatimate objects after mohammed, I do some what agree with logic in the fact that america does take offense to such massive resentment towards people who are “Infidels” and the fact that we are “ignorant” towards their god, so its not unrealistic to say that if they keep up acts like that we will start looking at people of arabic culture as a scary/cruel people.

   P.S.-America likes to bomb things they think are scary/cruel

   i would call my dog muhammed . what you gonna do , stone me to death , in between claiming welfare in my country .muslims . if they want to call a bear muhammed , why he hell shouldnt they . it doesnt mean they are calling it after your god , and even if they were , so what . its harmless . that woman is teaching your kids , because you probably dont have the trained teachers to do the job .

    I am a muslim by force,i got to know from my parent that islam all the way has proved itself as a religion in conflict embeded in violence.In all sincerity,arabian were fools to have accepted Mohammed to fool them into believing that allah truly sent him thereby spreading the teaching by sword.we all know what happened to mohammed in his later year,he died a shameful death.
    Let forge ahead islam and give in to another religion that will make the whole world safe.

    This article is a perfect example why I am proud to be an American. This also reminds me just how free I am, and will never understand some laws or religions in other country’s. I don’t even want to image what my life would be like in a country like that!!
