Adobe Photoshop CS4 is out now, unlike previous version where the only changes are cosmetic together with minor bugs fixes, the latest version comes with the same user interface and a brand new extended rendering engine.
Adobe Photoshop is a must have tool for me, there won’t be a day goes by without me using it and based on my experience, the latest Adobe Photoshop CS4 performs better under the 64-bit and multi-core processors, on top of that, it utilizes the GPU (Graphic Processor Unit) for a faster and smoother panning and zooming, this allows an overall performance gains ranged from 8% to 12%. Those who work with extremely large files may realize noticeably greater gains in performance, in some cases as dramatic as ten times the previous speed.
Content-Aware Scaling
One of the many new features I found to be revolutionary is the content aware scaling feature, basically what it does is to automatically recompose the image as you resize, during the process of resizing, photoshop removes unwanted information from the image without losing the main data as shown in the image below.
