It is no secret that Symantec, McAfee and Trend Micro, the three leading Anti Virus software has a detection rate of 80%, where else unknown or up and coming anti virus vendor has a higher detection rate, the reason is because virus authors are specifically testing their Trojans and viruses to make sure their malware can bypass these antivirus before releasing them, therefore, your chance of being infected is higher.
Kaspersky anyone?

Trend Micro Sucks
February 25th, 2009I bought this piece of crap after talking to an OUTSOURCED customer service rep. She straight up lied to me and told me the product had a three year subscription. It doesn’t. It only has a one year. I called their PHILLIPINE call center back and was hung up on once, and stonewalled once before I got through to a USELESS supervisor. They could have just given me an extra year of subscription and saved the relationship. But now I’m going to bad mouth these suckwads to everyone I know. F YOU TREND CRAP
Trend Micro 2009 really SUCKS
March 14th, 2009I have to agree. I left Norton for Trend a few years ago and now I’m done with them both. I tried the 2009 Trend and the trial version can’t do anything right. It even fails the eicar test. Time to go with something like Avast Pro. That is, until they get bloated and screw things up as well.
They All Suck
August 3rd, 2009Lets add Mcafee to the list also. I have Total Protection installed on two workgroup computers. When I had a problem , their CS (u know hose guys over there who are living in poverty and 2 minutes from the nearest terrorist outpost that we give TOTAL remote access to our systems) installed a major update to both systems. Since then neither system has functioned properly. The security suite won’t update, even manually. I receive multiple d/c’s from programs accessing the internet, DHCP conflicts, winsock errors,etc. Every time I call those potential terrorists, they claim they have resolved the problem by reinstalling the suite. They have done nothing! I ask for escalation, demand it, and they just act dumb. Im also tired of giving remote access to these potential terrorists who I doubt have been security screened very thoroughly. I want USA technicians. I bought GOLD service and I am getting bargain basement service from a third world nation of potential terrorists. WTF Mcafee? Over.
