I have had this problem myself today, and a good solution is to use a &quot;LiveCD&quot; system such as Ubuntu (it has NTFS support via the ntfs-3g driver).

Just boot it up from the disc and you can do basically anything you want to your partitions. You don&#039;t need to install it as a full-fledged OS on your machine, but the LiveCD system provides many useful utilities for things like this.
