Accidentally deleted a Word document and how to recover it from the recycle bin? Which is the best external hard drive data recovery software?

Restoration is perhaps the easiest, simplest, and cheapest hard drive data recovery software, not to mention that it is absolutely free! It runs on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/Vista. The only drawback I find is the lack of support and at certain times it fails to recover certain missing files, which is not to bad consider the fact that this is a freeware.

Restoration is an easy to use and straight forward tool to undelete files that were removed from the recycle bin or directly deleted from within Windows, and we were also able to recover photos from a Flash card that had been formatted. Upon start, you can scan for all files that may be recovered and also limit the results by entering a search term or extension. In addition, it also provides the option to wipe the found files beyond simple recovery.

You can filter the results if you know the name of the file you are looking for, which is much easier than wading through the list of the hundreds of deleted files it usually finds (including temporary files, cached Web files, etc). Restoration doesn’t need to be installed to work. Download Restoration 2.5 by Brian Kato, only 229 kb!
