To set up this free hardware internet filter, all you have to do is set the DNS addresses in your router to OpenDNS settings. Login to your router’s setting page (usually the router’s IP address is http://192.168.0.1), type in OpenDNS addresses in Primary DNS Address and Secondary DNS Address fields.

Internet Filter For Mac and Linux
For Apple Mac OS X user, follow the step by step tutorial as shown in the screenshot below. As for Linux user, go to the network settings and perform the same task by change the required DNS address to OpenDNS settings.
- Go to System Preferences
- Click on Network
- Select Built In Ethernet and click Advanced
- Change the DNS address to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.
