July 23rd, 2009Looks nice and easy to use. But it seems to totally depend on keywords, either contained in the web page, or URL. This could cause a lot of ‘false positives’.
I prefer another free software – SafeSquid Personal. SafeSquid also has default Keyword filtering rules to block porn websites, but it offers a lot more than that. To quote a few –
#I can use the free-for-home-user URL blacklist database from shallalist.de with safesquid, to block access to websites based on categories like porn, adult, hate, etc.
#I can enforce google, yahoo, bing safesearch so that search for adult content is blocked
#I can use free and open-source Clam Antivirus with safesquid for virus security
#I can use open-source log analyzers like Sarg to generate detailed usage reports from safesquid logs
