To delete and remove the automatic bookmark search function in Firefox 3, go to ‘Tools’ –> ‘Options’ –> ‘Privacy’ tab –> select ‘Never remember history’ (step 4) and ‘Nothing’ (step 5) for the location bar suggestion feature. When you’re done, hit ‘ok’

p.s. Remember to click on the ‘Clear all current history’ link (see screenshot). When you select the ‘Never remember history’ list, it doesn’t mean previous history and search query are automatically removed from Firefox 3 database.
