Windows 7 is slated for launch on 22nd October, as usual, security is always important and having the right software does make a difference. The antivirus companies listed below provide consumer security software that is compatible with Windows 7.

- Sunbelt Software VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware
- Panda Antivirus
- McAfee VirusScan
- PC Tools AntiVirus
- Trend Micro Internet Security
- Symantec Norton AntiVirus/Norton 360
- Kaspersky Anti-Virus
- BullGuard
- CA Anti-Virus
- ESET NOD32
- AVG Anti-Virus
- Avast! Professional Edition
- Microsoft Security Essentials
- BitDefender
At the time of writing, quite a number of Antivirus companies are not in the list of ‘Windows 7 security software providers’, they are:
- Comodo
- Sophos Anti-Virus
- Normon
- Dr.Web
- ZoneAlarm
Probably they haven’t notify Microsoft on the compatibility of their software or Microsoft has yet to update the list. Just a friendly advice, DO NOT INSTALL MORE THAN ONE ANTIVIRUS! By doing so, it may cause system crash or your computer to lag badly, this is because both antivirus are competing against each other for resources and memory.
