How To Create Wireless Wifi Hotspot Connection With A Laptop

The headlines in PC World screams – Unfinished Windows 7 Feature Turns Laptops Into Wi-Fi Hotspots. It appears that Microsoft has some unfinished code in Windows 7, probably kept for Service Pack 1. The unfinished product is known as Virtual Wifi, basically what it does is it turns any laptop into a wireless access point, allowing other Wi-Fi-enabled devices to share the connection without special software.

Here are the features:
- Any WiFi enabled device can connect to your network without any additional configuration or software
- You can join a WiFi network and run the Connectify Hotspot on the same WiFi card, at the same time
- All wireless hotspot is encrypted with WPA2-Personal (AES) encryption.

This is a unique feature, however, it is unlikely to replace the existing router. To begin with, a router uses less electricity, not to mention the stability of a router. This is a short term solution for those wanting to share their internet connect, say a friend is at your place and you don’t have a wireless router.
