This is by far the best anti-smoking advertisement I’ve come across, found in my local newspaper. It says “Second Hand Smoke Kills” and Marlboro man’s horse died to second hand smoke – lungs cancer. Very effective message. I’m not a smoker and to all those smokers out there, stop killing me!

wow the horse died…lol…dont horses have really big lungs? wouldnt the human have died first? whatever….
well carly it all depends how the horse is immune to smoke…
if the man smoking has been smoking for a long period of time with the horse it depends who dies first…
lol i make no sense…
ne ways i am quite young and wanted to post sumthing on so i chose this..
and by the way i do smoke… lmao
hey! I’m french, and I had to choose and comment an ad. I choosed this one. that’s what I said about this:
On the picture, we can see, in the background, a typical western landscape(monument valley, in the USA). In the foreground is a cow-boy, who seems to be in a very awkward situation. Indeed, by his side, his horse is laying, apparently dead. Above them is this caption: SECOND HAND SMOKE KILLS.
The “second hand smoke” is the smoke that enters the lungs of non-smokers because of the cigarettes of smokers. As cow-boys had the reputation to smoke a lot, we conclude that the horse died because of the cigarette smoke of the man. Of course, this situation is not credible, for probably no horse has never die because of second hand smoke. But the aim of this advertisement is to make people aware of the risks, and one of the best way to reach this goal is to show them a funny ad. So, by laughing, people will remember this sentence, “second hand smoke kills”, and maybe smokers will be sensitive to this the next time they’ll smoke beside a non-smoker.
;)
Love the poster – I was wondering if there was a hard copy of it anywhere, for a presentation.
the real irony of this image that the guy from the ad died like a couple of years ago in lung cacer…
what do you think of a person that already has colon cancer and continues to smoke AND this person has teenage children… fortunately the kids don’t smoke but what about the second hand smoke…
It would be funny if you people didn’t believe the lie. Second hand smoke is a HOAX started by the Nazi in 1939. Do the research!
