Method 1


- Launch Window Media Player
- Go to ‘Tools’ –> ‘Options’
- In ‘Options’, select the ‘Performance’ Tab then select the ‘Advance’ button
- A new window will appear, uncheck ‘Use Overlays’
- Click Ok and you are done, hit the ‘print screen’ button on your keyboard to capture your favorite screenshot.
Method 2
Instead of the ‘Print Screen’ method mentioned above, press ‘CTRL’ + ‘I’ key on your keyboard, the following combination automatically captures the screenshot in Windows Media Player and a new pop up box appears on where to save the jpg file.

It’s funny that I came across this article as I was experimenting with different methods of screen capture only last week.
The one I found the neatest for my uses was Screengrab! which is a free plug-in with Mozilla Firefox.
I will give this method a try as I haven’t used this method before.
For some reason this methods doesn’t work on my Dell laptop, nor does removing hardware acceleration in display settings.
Specifically, even with overlays and hardware acceleration turned off, pressing Ctrl-Print then pasting into any graphics application the image is still animated. If you save it, it saves nothing. Pressing Ctrl-I (Ctrl-eye) does nothing in Windows Player 11.
