Do you use both Yahoo! Messenger and MSN Live Messenger for Mac? How do video and voice chat on MSN Messenger and YM on a Mac OS X computer? Trillian is a brilliant idea, it is an integrated communications client for YM, MSN, ICQ, and AOL that enables you to communicate with contacts seamlessly. Makes it easy to take advantage of the full power of real-time communications between various IM at the same time.
However, back then the client was only available in Windows version, and to make things worst, the MSN and YM software developed for Mac OS X is pretty much a striped down version with basic features. Not to mention when you are using the Mac version for MSN, video chat and voice chat with your friends are not available.
In comes Trillian, written up from the ground, the Flash-based web version and the Ajax-driven iPhone version can use the same code as the native Windows client.
Right now, Trillian for Mac is still in beta stage. Though this first alpha build of the OS X version of Trillian is still very preliminary and minimal – the functionality pulled through is about the same as the Flash-based web version.
