What is Svchost.exe? According to Microsoft, Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for various services that uses the dynamic-link libraries, also known as DLLs. What Windows does when it start up is to check for a list of services from the registry to load. The authentic svchost.exe file is located in C:\Windows\System32, however, a number viruses and trojans writers knew they could hijack this service to hide their activities and to make it harder for antivirus to remove the malwares.
When a virus attach itself to one of the many services or create a new services within Svchost, you are likely to encounter a few application errors, this is possibly due to your antivirus blocking the application from accessing the infected dll files.
