I have hundreds of scientific articles which I have underlined and filed. I’d like to find a way to be able to retrieve the articles by topic, author, or key words. Does optical character software work reliably with a wide variety of fonts, characters embedded in backgrounds, etc. some from journals, others from sources that have varying formats for providing the name of the author, journal, title, etc. Reliability of scanning the text is a key concern.
Thanks for providing answers. We do use MS Word, we do have a scanner used with our Mac for scanning documents related to people who attend and complete evaluations for our programs.
