Have you somehow lost your D-Link router’s password? Perhaps the easiest way to gain access to your router’s admin interface is by restoring it to the default factory settings, however, if that is not possible, try method number two via the master password. Method 1 – Restore Factory Settings
As shown in the image above, insert the tip of a pen or a paper clip into the ‘reset’ hole, push the button for 5 seconds or more, make sure the power is on for the router. For confirmation of resetting the router to default settings, you should be able to see all of the router’s LED flashes or blinks, on certain models the router would restart itself. When you’re done, access the router with the default username and password as stated in your user manual.
Method 2 – Master Key / Password
Every router comes with a master key or password, these set of password enables you to access the router without restoring or losing the settings.

I would like to restore my Dlink-615 router to factory setting. The CD that came with the router starts up with the Start Up Wizard. I would like to start all over with creating settings, user password and a new SSID. The error messages states that I have to reconfigure using the original password which has been changed so many times by resetting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

i tried to reset it manually but it didnt work also
my pc see the router as a switch only
it cant get into the setup page even if the ip is auto assigned by DHCP
i tried all the methods like push reset for20 sec then unplug the power for 30 sec then replug it and keep pressing the reset for 10 sec then switching off then on again
and the result is zero also

Everyone in here with issues with the Username/Password on the login screen or Reset the dlink router to Factory Defaults – All you have to do is HOLD the reset bottum in the back of your router for at least 30 secs until you see lights flashing.
(IF it didn’t reset your setting maybe you need to hold the reset botton for a longer time frame)
Your master Username and Password are on the Label under your router. Flip your router and you will see your Default Master Key username and password on the label of your router.
FYI, Resetting to Factory defaults – YES will remove you WEP / WPA security key and make your internet Unsecure network that you would need to set it up again.
DLINK 615 – CD comes with it with instructions – HOLD the RESET bottum for 30+ sec and it will reset everything back to factory defaults and then you can use the CD to set it up in your CD way.

I have reset my DLINK Dir600 to factory defaults and reconfigured my wireless security successfully. Now I want to disable DHCP and DNS as I have another router in front of this one which handles DHCP and DNS. However the web software will not allow me to disable the DHCP and DNS settings on the manual LAN page. It will not let be turn off the check boxes. Any suggestions as to how disable this functionality as it is preventing my wireless subnet from accessing the Internet.

Recently I bought a second hand ‘D-Link’ switch (DGS 3024) . The previous owner didn’t do a factory reset and did not provide a username and password. Also the IP adress was set to an unknown value. Value not corresponding to my network ID. I need to acces the switch to set a new IP adress so i can use the web interface and configure the switch. I tried connecting it with a serial interface but the first thing it asks is the username and password. Does someone have an idea to do a hard reset of this switch? The IP address should then reset to the default address10.90.90.90.
PS: I tried opening the switch and take out the battery for 2 minutes. No result though.

I could not log into my router with the IP once I had set a password. Even though I tried the password I had setup. Now I did just reset the router and was able to get my TV and Cable logged on . Thanks
