Its official now, Kaspersky Antivirus for Mac is now available for download. As one of the leading antivirus solution in the market, Kaspersky is charging $59.95 for a single license. Personally, I find this somewhat too expensive, considering the fact that Mac OS doesn’t come with that many threat.
Features and requirements:
- Intel-based Macintosh computer (PowerPC processor not supported)
- 512 MB free RAM
- 100 MB free hard drive space
- Mac OS X 4/10/11 operating system, or higher
- Real-time scanning of files
- Uses the latest Kaspersky antivirus technologies
- Fast and non-intrusive with only 1% CPU impact on your Mac performance
Is the money worth investing on an antivirus for mac? To be honest, no. The chances of a Mac being infected with a virus or any other malware is really slim. Unless the Mac is for general public like in a library or for small business purposes, I don’t see a reason for purchasing an antivirus.
If you’re into freeware, try the free iAntivirus and CalmXav for mac.
