How To Convert And Save PowerPoint To Video / Movie With Office 2010

Have you downloaded the Microsoft Office 2010 beta? You should give it a try, I would say I am impressed with all the new features, it has been 3 long years since Microsoft Office 2007, and about time too as we gradually migrate to cloud technology.

What I liked about Microsoft Office 2010 is the new feature in Powerpoint, now you can convert your powerpoint to video directly without any third party plugin. For those using Microsoft 2000, 2003 and 2007, do download the free beta version and convert your ppt to video, why pay for a third party plugin or software?

How to save PowerPoint 2010 to Video:

  • Open your presentation in PowerPoint 2010
  • Click the ‘Office Button’, and then choose ‘Share’ (Step 1)
  • Click ‘Create a video’ (Step 2) and choose the format and quality

You have the following options:

  • Computer and HD Display
  • Internet and DVD
  • Portable Devices (Smartphone and Zune with WMV support)

Since this is a beta product, don’t expect the video rendering to be flawless, fast and error free. From what I heard, it took quite sometime for it to render the video and the quality of the movie is terrible. Anyway, here are two of my new favorite features, they are compression and embedded media (sounds and movie are now saved into a single ppt file).
