It is official now, Google is out there to make surfing the internet faster and safer. With the introduction of Google Public DNS, you do not have to rely on your ISP’s DNS service, try Google DNS. Why is it faster? Simple, Google Public DNS is hosted in data centers worldwide, and uses anycast routing to send users to the geographically closest data center. By using Google Public DNS you can:
- Speed up your browsing experience
- Improve your security, phishing websites are filtered
- Get the results you expect with absolutely no redirection

To try it out, configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS server as shown in the screenshot about.
Maybe you are not a big fan of Google, or dislike the idea of Google collecting all of your data and surfing habits. Do try OpenDNS, I did wrote about it, based on my own experiement, Google DNS appears to be faster.
