Between Gmail and Hotmail, I still prefer Hotmail. Probably because I get to sort out all of my emails into different folders, whereas in Gmail, every email is in the inbox and the only way to sort it out is by labeling/tag them. Yahoo is a distance third from my radar. Both Google and Hotmail are equally good, and if we were to based on our selection of reliability, it appears that Gmail has more downtime than Hotmail.
In term of features, Gmail wins hands down. SMS, Chat, Undo Send, and many more, not to mention the attachment size is bigger and the storage space is almost unlimited. Here are some of the reasons why Gmail is better:

- Offers pop-out services
- Gtalk integration
- SMS (Certain countries only)

I agree with you. Both Gmail and Hotmail are good. I like Gmail better, but I use Hotmail to make and maintain all my accounts (except for Google and Yahoo! sites). I use Gmail for school. Oh and I like Google’s search, though Bing is superior in some ways. :)
