In a large network, there bound to be bottleneck. Sometimes due to hardware, at times it could be the software, which is an isolated case easily solved by formatting the computer. To identify the problem within a network, you’ll need AIDA32, as shown in the screenshot above, to access the network benchmark and monitoring feature you’ll need to follow the simple procedure as shown above.
AIDA32 is a professional system information, diagnostics and benchmarking program running on Win32 platforms. AIDA32 will extract details of all components of the PC.
As shown the the screenshot below, you’ll see a network performance graph, it varies from computer to computer. You’ll need to monitor individual computers and isolate the possible fault. For instant:
- Are all of the computers effected lies within the same network?
- If it is, could it be the routers/switch’s fault?
- If it is random, could it be hardware compatibility issue? Say D-Link network card not compatible with Huawei’s network card?
- Could it be the Switch that is overloaded?
- Maybe updating the firmware for both routers and switch will do the trick.
- Could it be a virus or trojan spreading via the network thus causing the overloading?

I used to live in a student housing with 10 people in the house sharing a router, whenever it reaches the maximum number of user it crashed. A hard reboot is required. It is a case by case basis, if you own a small to medium business with 8 to 10 computers, you’ll need a better router, not the cheap router or switch, always go for the branded stuff, it is much more reliable.
Note: AIDA32 is more than a network benchmarking tool, you’ll be able to identify the motherboard, type of RAM, type of BIOS, display settings and everything. Although most of the basic information can be found through the standard Windows ‘properties’ feature, AIDA32 on the other hand provides a richer and more informative list.
It also include tools for CPU profiling, disk and network benchmarking, and monitor testing. I’ve been using this tool since secondary school, more than 10 years. This impressive freeware is easy to use and provides you with comprehensive information about your computer. AIDA32 doesn’t install; just run its executable file to view a neatly designed interface with system categories presented in a tree view list.
