I was researching on color laser printer, I did thought of buying a new printer but decided not to because my six years old Canon S6300 is still working and I couldn’t find a good reason to ditch my inkjet for laser. Given a choice, I would settle for HP or Canon, most probably HP for its reputation. Xerox and Brothers are not a bad choice either.

In the midst of researching, curiosity got the best out of me and I searched for the fastest color laser printer and it was none other than a brand in the printing industry that I dislike the most – Dell. Reason being that Dell printers are essentially Lexmark, what Dell did was to re-badge it as a Dell. Here are the specification and benefits of Dell 5130cdn:
- Monthly duty cycle up to 80,000 pages
- Cost Per Page (CPP) of 1.04c for black and white and 7.71c for color print outs
- 47 single-sided and up to 37 double-sided letter pages per minute (ppm) in both mono and color
- Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi
Let me see, Dell 5130cdn is faster, cheaper, and comes with a higher resolution. I can’t say much about the reliability but it should be good, knowing well that it is a re-badged Lexmark.
If you’re looking for the fastest inkjet printer, Kyocera has it. KYOCERA Develops World’s Fastest Inkjet Printhead.
