Which is the most affordable and inexpensive color laser printer? Here are the top 10 Color Laser Printers by PCWorld. From my personal point of view, the results are somewhat bias towards Lexmark. Why is that so? Well, look at the list, Lexmark occupied 3 out of 10 of the best color laser printer, whereas industry leaders such as HP, Canon and Xerox each occupied one.
Why 3 and not 2? Well, Dell IS Lexmark. Dell doesn’t own much technology, they are merely a company that re-badges a product by slapping their logo onto it, from LCD monitor to printers. All Dell printers uses the same technology from Lexmark, however the ink cartridge is compatible between the two brands. As color laser printers becomes more affordable, though toner costs can still be a shock, they are becoming increasingly cheaper and much more reliable. I have to admit Dell is leading the way when it comes to page yield for each ml of ink, probably because they don’t have to spend enormous money on R&D.

I am not going to talk about the specification of each printers, being a person who has the opportunity to toy with various printers, it is better for me to elaborate the experience I had and the pros and cons of each brand and its reliability.
Personally, my favorite brand are HP, Canon And Xerox. HP for its reliability, quality and wide network, not to mention HP is the leader in the printing industry with the most patents filed in the USPTO. Canon for its affordability, undeniably its ink are cheaper compared with HP and Xerox. As for Xerox, it is well known in the copier industry, not much of the printing industry. If you’re looking for a copier, Xerox is it.
