Norton PC Checkup is a free tool that checks your PC for potential security threats, as the name implies, it is a checkup tool, not a clean up too. I decided to give it a try and here are my reviews and some screenshots:

The user interface is really simple and the scanning process is somewhat quick, depending again on your processor and the amount of data.

You’ll be amazed by the number of virus and spyware detected, which is not quite true. As shown in the screenshot below, ‘Cookies’ are categorized as spyware which is ironically filed under the ‘Virus and Spyware’.

Cookies are not a threat, metaphorically speaking, cookies are more of like a ‘peeping tom’. Here are some of Norton PC Checkup features:
- PC Checkup will automatically scan your computer for security and performance problems each week
- You’ll receive a custom report with scan results and fix recommendations
Overall, this tool is pretty useless. It doesn’t show the full report, unless you signup or something like that which I couldn’t be bothered to do so. Don’t get me wrong, am still a Norton user, just that this tool doesn’t say much except for ‘You need to buy our product NOW!’

I have not been able to find that program on the Symantec/Norton website. Can you send me the URL for that program? Thanks….
