Just like every other alternatives, SoftMaker Office 2010 is as good as Office 2010, what makes it different from others is the compatibility and availability of SoftMaker Office 2008 for Windows Mobile.
If you happened to own a mobile smartphone powered by Windows Mobile, this is quite useful. For your information, Google Android (new smartphone OS) is around the corner, with it comes a good integration between Google Docs, Calendar, and many more with this smartphone. SoftMaker Office 2010 is free, and to top it, they are donating 10 euro cents for every download. I find it somewhat weird, they are giving out free software while donating money for every download. How do they support their own operation? The original product cost € 69.95, I suspect the DOWNLOAD itself is free but the product is not free. They are playing with words.
Anyway, that doesn’t matter. SoftMaker Office reads and writes Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files seamlessly – and costs only a fraction of Microsoft Office.
