How to assign a different proxy settings for Google Chrome that is different from Internet Explorer (Windows)? By default, every browser installed will look for the default settings in Windows, this includes proxy, DNS, and many more. What if you don’t have administrator access, thus changing the settings is not available via Internet Explorer? Try this simple tutorial on how to change the proxy server settings for Google Chrome.

Right click on the Google Chrome Shortcut icon on your desktop and select ‘properties’

As shown in the screenshot above, add the following text at the end of default text (remember to add a space)

    –proxy-server=”ipaddress:port”

Remember to replace ‘ipaddress:port’ with your own proxy server IP address. Here is an example – 192.168.1.5:8080 (example only)
