Based on my past experience, the built in Windows System Restore feature in Windows XP simply doesn’t work, since I am new to Windows 7, I can’t conclude that Windows System Restore is equally bad. For those still using Windows XP, Comodo Time Machine is probably the best solution. The only problem I find with Windows System Restore is the inability to keep the ‘restore’ point, Windows will automatically delete the ‘restore’ image if it reaches the hard disk space limit.
Comodo Time Machine (FREEWARE) on the other hand is a powerful system rollback utility that allows users to quickly restore their computers to an earlier point in time. CTM ‘snapshots’ are a complete record of your entire system (including the registry, critical operating system files and user created documents). This is useful for system admins with tons of Windows to restore at the end of the year, with a click of a button everything is restored instantly. Formatting the computer takes a longer time.
I am not going to elaborate all the amazing feature, you can find all the details on the official website. What I would like to share is my own experience with this amazing piece of software, here are what I like about Comodo Time Machine:
- Provides instant and comprehensive system recovery after virus or spyware infections, usually when a virus attack the system, it copies itself to Windows System Restore file, thus restoring the system is a waste of time.
- System snapshots includes the registry, critical operating system files and user created documents
- System snapshots are preserved until deleted, very useful for system administrator

if you liked Comodo Time Machine (CTM), you will surely appreciate Rollback Rx. CTM is nothing else than a ripped version of Rollback Rx so you should be more bug free and actually have client support from them.
