Previously I did blog about a similar tool known as Gmail Notifier, if that software doesn’t work well for you, do consider Spiffy. It is a gmail email notification software that alerts you of new incoming emails.
Compared with Gmail Notifier, Spiffy is much simpler and easier to use. Based on my own experience, this is much better than Gmail Notifier, probably because I am a minimalist, I prefer things to be as simple as possible. Here are some of the unique features:

- Sound alert on new e-mail
- Proxy support (supports authentication)
- Runs in System Tray
- No installation required
